Before we jump into the political news, here’s a quick update on the Starbucks union drive, which I’m increasingly convinced is creating a blueprint for loosening the grip that corporations have on our economy, media narrative, and national psyche:
Starbucks Workers United won all five elections at organizing stores in Richmond, Virginia today, a scintillating sweep that bumps the nationwide total of union-certified stores to 25. I’ve been in close contact with Starbucks workers in Richmond for the past month or so, and produced this video about their fight over at More Perfect Union:
