Why is it so hard for the dems to call the GOP on their war against public education?

A general lack of support from voters is behind that. I am also in North Carolina and I see the issues. I am also an independent voter but because of some manifestos I have read, I am changing my mind. Republicans do not care about children at all. They will gut the schools and give the money to the rich in some form.

It seems obvious to me that the goal is to gut public education, but I'm not convinced that GOP voters get that. I think they truly think that they're going to rid the schools of DEI/CRT/LGBTQ+/etc and magically fix the schools. I don't think they realize that the goal isn't to "fix" public education but to defund it.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure there's a way to get through to them before it's too late.

It really is. I fight for my grandchildren to have a great education.

I agree with you. One again, using hate and fear based politics to justify their actions. And they are successfully carrying out their agenda.

It's...concerning.

Thanks for this information. The part about schools and privatization are really sad. The senator from North Carolina is an ass and a joke who needs to be drawn and quartered. Republicans do not care about children.

Ugh we have to live with that dipshit along with the other one here in NC, and our dem party is...uh...not very good. At least not historically.

The dems in NC have some good people, but racism and bigotry rule here. If you have a good heart and are a politician in NC, they will throw you out. The gerrymandering which occurs freely and effectively here does help. If we are not careful we will become Florida without Micky Mouse or Universal Studios.

That's my fear, especially if robinson prevails in november.

I won’t vote for him. He is too extreme.

He also has no discernible policy positions besides "gay people are icky," "women are whores," and "Muslims are evil." So no, I won't be voting for him either.

Stein may not be perfect but he's done way more for the state and has a solid track record of positive accomplishments.

I like how you put that. Decent people cannot allow someone like that to be Governor. We do need more Blue in this state.
