Hi all!
We’re now less than 24 hours until the first election results begin to roll in, and I’ve got to say, I’m more nervous for this election than I’ve been in a long time. Obviously, that’s in part because Democrats are trailing in the polls ahead of Election Day, whereas in 2016 and 2020 the disappointment came as a shock due to flawed polling. But it’s also a matter of stakes — once again, democracy, freedom, and the health of millions of Americans ride on these elections.
I want to know how you feel about it all, what you’re predicting, and what you’ll be watching come tomorrow, so join us in the chat! I’ve opened it up to all subscribers, given the enormity of tomorrow’s election and the importance of having people to talk with about it.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
I just can’t stop thinking about the failure to pass voting rights protections
Feeling dismally depressed and pissed.
