Now that Elon Musk is somehow making Twitter even more unbearable to use, many of us are going to need a new way to find news and discuss events. Enter the very conveniently-timed substack chat.
We’re adopting this brand new tool here at Progress Report and making it much more than the name suggests — ours will bring you news from all around the country and foster a troll-free community for all of us to discuss it.
Think of it as the newsletter on steroids, with more news, opinion, and most crucially, a conversation that you can join at any time. I’ll be regularly sharing stories from all across the country. You’ll be offering your opinions, responding to fellow readers, and helping to decide what we cover. And if you just want to lurk and read the news, that’s great too!
Threads will be accessible to premium members at no extra cost, which means a subscription buys you three newsletters a week and a news and discussion in between. All you have to do is download the substack app.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
